Another high level responsibility has been bestowed on one of Nigeria’s philanthropic giants and most celebrated football administrators, Barr. Paul Edeh, with the members of Benue State University Alumni Association Federal Capital Territory (BSUAA-FCT) unanimously endorsing him as their Interim Chairman.

This was after the alumni body decided to put their differences aside and forge a common front.
Barr. Edeh who has over the years showed tenacity in every aspect of his involvement in life was named the leader of a seven-member interim committee during a Reconciliation and Harmonised Congress which held in Abuja in the presence of the Association’s National President, Comrade Lawrence Vihimga, and his entire leadership.
A press statement by Publicity Secretary of the BSUAA-FCT interim committee Hon. Amande Msughter Solomon, revealed that the emergence of the new chapter executive has finally put to an end previous issues regarding their existence.
The statement quoted the chairman of the harmonised congress planning committee, Hon. B.C. Obe, who praised the members for making a firm decision to put their house in order to ensure the progress of the Alumni Association for the development of the alma mater and advancement of each other’s concern.
In their remarks, the National President, Comrade Lawrence and former BSUAA National Presidents – Ijoh Stephen and Comrade Atavti Solomon hailed the resolve of FCT branch to come together and foster peace and unity.
Other members of the interim committee are Pst. Ambrose Atile (Vice-Chairman), Comrade Sunday Kpughur (Secretary), Mrs Mary Daniels (Treasurer), Miss Doowuese Akirga (Financial Secretary), Mrs Sewuese Asa (Member).
Responding on their behalf, the BSUAA-FCT Interim Chairman, Barr. Edeh, promised to ensure that the Association under his watch will become an envy among other branches.
Barr. Edeh who is also the Chairman of Benue State Football Association (BSFA) and President of Ratels Sports Development Foundation (RSDF) said, “The six-month mandate given to his team will reflect visibly on our Alma mater which is Benue State University. We will soon become a reference point for other branches including the national secretariat.

“I also want this opportunity to appeal to all of us to join hands together to make our Association and the school we graduated from stronger. I personally believe that we can do whatever we sincerely put our mind and hands into doing.”
Meanwhile, the BSFA Chairman has expressed confidence that the Lobi Stars of Makurdi have what it takes to lift the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title.
Barr. Edeh who spoke while congratulating the club for defeating Sporting Lagos during their Sunday league clash in Lafia said, “The match, which ended 1-0 against Sporting Lagos, was keenly contested, no doubt.
“On behalf of the BSFA, I say a big congratulations to the team, most especially to the Chairman and Vice Chairman, for the well-deserved victory. We will continue to support Lobi Stars as the team continues its quest to take the NPFL top spot this season.”
