Bamidele Olusanya, managing director of Broadcity FC of the Surulere Regional League (SLR), has revealed the motive behind the name change which has been attributed to the management as they firmly hold on to the team strategies, technical crews, players but with a different rebranded name that gives a new idea about the club.
In an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng, Bamidele posited that the name change from FC Herrtta to Broadcity FC is based on the affiliation in place with a team in Finland as they are looking forward to a new management who will take charge of the team, sponsor the team in lieu of the arrangement ahead of the 2020/ 2021 Surulere League new season.
“The COVID has helped to sit and re- strategize to work on the team, the change (new name) has been part of the plan since the beginning, the league massive development is a push to begin the new season with a new name.”
With the SLR set to kickoff, he said: “the team expectation is a bit high because of the new management, consul shape deal; a high finish is the expectation. We are looking to finish high than last season as other teams too are planning same, we are in good shape, and we will definitely give our best.”
“There is a lot of restructuring around the league, this season’s marketing strategy, willing major stakeholders commitment has been amazing, the boys will indeed get better offers with their performances, it is a great platform to show their talent, providing contents for media personnel to sell the league to the world and generate more attention from investors and sponsors alike.”
He further stated that the company sponsoring the club, Broad Management Zone, a sporting company which manages upcoming players, player presentation in Africa and basically major part of European countries, versatile aspects of management on and off the pitch, getting sponsors, player and coach recruitment will solely take responsibilities for the team as they look forward to the new season.
