Hiring and firing is a consistent part of football and Lagos based semi-pro football team Broad City have made managerial changes to their side in a bid to help the team grow.
Bamidele Olusanya, a director of Broad City management and owner of Goal Time Management, explained to Sport247 on the need for some of the changes in the team as they unveiled a new coach.
“Everyone into this semipro is all about grassroot players and their development. The reason for the change (of coach) is because the academy decided to come with a new strategy for grooming players and the board of directors signed an agreement with Goal Time Management in order to push the team to the next level and a change of coach was necessary,” Bamidele said.
“Our new coach, Micah, is young, vibrant a graduate of Nigerian Institute of Sports, a trained referee and an undergraduate of Business Administration in University of Markurdi and he’s been doing a lot with has shown differences in the way the boys play and we believe it will be a huge development for the boys, the academy and grassroot football in Nigeria,” he added.
Speaking on the business side, Bamidele said “we’re partnering with teams in Europe currently and covid helped ease some contracts with international clubs and agencies which has helped us develop and one of the reasons why we had a change of strategy and coach as well after the agencies viewed our proposals and suggested some improvements in the lads,” he said.
