Lobi Stars of Makurdi captain Tony Agbaji remains bullish saying Lobi fear no foe ahead of Friday’s CAF Champion’s league group stage draws to be conducted in Cairo Egypt.
Lobi Stars have been seeded in pot four of the draws alongside JS Sauora of Algeria, Ismaili of Egypt & Simba Lions of Tanzania which means they will face some of the top teams in Africa including Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Haly who have all been pooled in pot 1, 2 and 3.
In an exclusive chat with Sports 247.ng, Agbaji noted that they know what awaits them and has expressed strong confidence in the entire management to give them the necessary support to achieve their set targets. “This is African football and we understand perfectly how it is played. If they go physical we go physical and if they go tactical we go the same way. We are no scared of any team.
I know the level of the competition has increased so have we. We will not take the group stage the way we took the qualifying rounds. I know some of the teams here are the best in Africa but we are not scared of the instead they should be scared of us. We are not scared of any team. The management and the state government are really behid us motivation wise so we are not scared not one bit. ”
Lobi stars scaled through the preliminary stage of the championship beating Cameroon’s UMS de Loum before besting Gor Mahia of Kenya in a first round tricky tie.
