Nigeria defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has expressed his excitement and respect for working under Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahçe, calling it a “great honour” to be coached by one of football’s most renowned managers.
Mourinho, who took the helm at the Turkish Super Lig club earlier this summer, joined Fenerbahçe following his departure from Serie A’s AS Roma.
Mourinho, renowned for his illustrious career, has managed some of the biggest clubs in world football, including Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester United.
His reputation for both tactical acumen and his commanding presence precedes him, and Bright Osayi-Samuel shared his thoughts on the Portuguese tactician’s dual nature.
“Mourinho is scary but also very nice,” Osayi-Samuel commented to Fanatik. “It is a great honor to work with him.”
The defender acknowledged Mourinho’s ability to instill self-confidence in his players and expressed his eagerness to learn from the experienced manager.
“I want to learn the history of the players. He instills self-confidence in the player. I think I will learn a lot while working with him this year,” Osayi-Samuel added.
The 25-year-old is clearly looking forward to the opportunity to develop his skills under Mourinho’s guidance and contribute to Fenerbahçe’s ambitions in the upcoming season.
