Following the scintillating performance of Nasarawa United Football Club against the U-20 National Team, the Flying Eagles, in a pre-season friendly game held on Thursday, at the FIFA Goal Project, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, two of the club players have been handed invitations to join the camp of the Flying Eagles.
The players are left-full back, Reuben Goma, and midfielder, Abdallah Mohammed.
Reuben Goma who played the entire duration of the game was a delight to watch, as he bubbled with wonderful interceptions, confident ball control, excellent pass accuracy, and ran tirelessly along his flank, while ensuring a water-tight defence around his territory.
Abdallah Mohammed was a second-half inclusion, replacing Haggai Katoh, but utilized the period he lasted in the game intelligently, commanding the midfield of the Solid Miners like a super professional, and providing defense-splitting passes to the admiration of the handful of fans and dignitaries who came to watch the friendly duel, among whom were Nigerian Football Federation’s 2nd Vice President and Chairman of League Management Company, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and NFF Executive Committee Member, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh.
Chairman of Nasarawa United, Barr. Isaac Danladi, broke the heart-warming news to the Club media this morning.
Though Nasarawa United lost the preseason match 2-4, it was the Lafia-based team that won the accolades of everyone at the stadium, as their performance was rated above average.
