Kano Pillars Football club skipper, Gambo Muhammad has left the club today, Tuesday 10th September 2019.
This is according to our spokesman, Rilwanu Idris malikawa.
Malikawa said Gambo Muhammad has decided to leave the club after he did not agree with the management decided to send him to a coaching course in the National Sports Institute, (NIS) as recommended by the Technical crew of the club in their last season report.
Gambo Muhammad who served the Sai Masu Gida for twelve seasons will from today be no longer a player of the club and he is free to join any club as said by Malikawa.
Malikawa also said the Management of the club thanked Gambo Muhammad for his contributions to the club and said his name will remain writing in Gold in the history of the club.
“Initially Kano Pillars football club want to retain Gambo that is why they decide to send him to coaching course but because of reasons best known to him he didn’t accept that Idea, Malikawa said.
Speaking on behalf of Gambo Muhammad, his Manager Muhammad Saminu Asesa said Gambo leaves the Sai Masu Gida based on mutual understanding and said the relationship between Gambo, Pillars and the entire fans will be sustained.
He thanked his teammates, technical crew, the management and fans of the club for being there for him for the past twelve years.
He assured that very soon he will notify his fans the next club he will be joining.
Gambo felts that he still has more years ahead so after consultations with his close associate, he decided not to go for the coaching course.
Gambo Muhammad won Four Nigeria Professional Football League titles while at Pillars and was among the players that lead the Sai Masu Gida to the historic Aiteo Cup triumph in July 2019.
