The much awaited Double J Super Cup final would hold August 23 at Ladoje Primary School,Oko-Oba,Agege,Lagos.
This was disclosed early today by the cup donor, Nwachukwu Ramond in a telephone chat with our correspondent.
He said after due consultation with organizing committee and the representatives of the two finalists,he decided to fix August which would be convenient for all the people involved ranging from fans, referees,media and invited guests.
The final match would be between Toma Football Club and God’s Power Football Club.
Nwachukwu explained that he would have played the final earlier but due to pandemic disease, covid-19,he decided to shift the closing ceremony to August.
Aside this,the cup donor said the final date is concided with his birthday which would make the closing ceremony colourful and glamorous.
“Let me use this medium to announce that I have fixed a date for the final which is August 23.Recently I have met the organising committee and other concerned people and we have agreed on the said date.Immediately government has eased the lockdown on sports activities,I expect the two finalists to start preparation ahead of final,”he said.
Nwachukwu whose services involved Recording studio and Artiste management,Event planning,sport promotion and management and Travels & Logistics said he has started preparation for the final noted that he is waiting for state government and Lagos State Football Association,LSFA to reopen all the sport centres for activities to commence.
Speaking ahead of the final, chairman Toma FC,Tobi Ogboyemi expressed delight that the cup donor has finally fixed a date for the final boasting that his team have what it takes to win the tournament.
To reach the final stage,Toma FC beat PCFA 11-10 after goalless draw at the full time,while God’s Power FC walloped Sheriff FC 4-1 in the second semi final played early this year.
