League Management Company (LMC) has approved the Soccer Temple Stadium in Agege, Lagos State, considering it good enough for MFM to host its NPFL home games in the new incoming season.
The Agege Stadium had earlier not been approved by the League Management Company to host NPFL games, as LMC had considered the stadium not good enough, stating that they(MFM) would play their home matches of the new NPFL season at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
With that report, Football Fans in Lagos were not happy with the decision by the LMC, as they voiced out and pleaded with the Lagos State Government to work on the Agege Stadium, so as to enable the Odukoya’s boys to play its home games there and not the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
With the Plies and Cries of Football Loving Lagosians, the Lagos State Government commenced work on the Agege Stadium, renovating the whole surroundings of the Soccer Temple.
With the current renovation done at the Agege stadium, LMC in their statement released included the Agege Stadium as one of the stadiums to be used in the upcoming new NPFL season
“We gladly notice the amount of work carried out in some stadia to bring them up to the standard required for the NPFL and the various plans going forward for major works and maintenance”.
Consequently, the following stadia are hereby granted approval to host NPFL matches.
1. Ifeanyi Uba Stadium, Nnewi- Fc Ifeanyi Uba
2. AGEGE STADIUM, LAGOS- MFM FC
3. Akure Township Stadium, Akure- Sunshine Stars Fc
4. Lafia Township Stadium, Lafia- Nasarawa United Fc
5. New Jos Stadium, Jos-Plateau United Fc
6. Ozoro Poly Stadium, Delta State- Warri Wolves Fc
7. Dan Anyam Stadium, Owerri- Heartland Fc
With the news of the Agege Stadium approved by the LMC, there was Joy and Jubilation in the air as Lagos Football lovers rejoiced on hearing that their darling Lagos team, MFM will still remain at the Agege Stadium to execute their home matches in the new coming 2020/2021 NPFL season.
