Lagos-based side Dannaz FC have formerly announced the appointment of Coach Akande Fatai Adejumo Smith as the club’s new technical director for both male and female teams as a club owner and former manager, Mr. Danny Nazzal steps down.
Mr. Danny Nazzal who has been in charge of the club’s male and female side, leading them to various competitions including the Ikeja Divisional league, qualifying them for the Nationwide League One Division 3, and also helping the team gain promotion to the second division has decided to step down from managerial duties in order to focus on the business side of the club.
Mr. Danny Nazzal told Sports247, “I am stepping down to focus on the business side of the club and with Coach Dayo as the General Director, Coach Fatai is coming in as the Technical Director who will oversee our male and female team and also the academy. I trust that we will achieve greater things with him on board.”
New coach Akande Fatai is a CAF holder and FCAAN Instructor. He promoted Ijebu United to Nigeria National League 2021 and is a manager known not to rest on his oars.
In an interview with Sports247, Coach Fatai expressed his gratitude and plans for the club. “I feel elated and great, it’s an honor to be appointed the technical director of the male and female team is a bigger challenge but I love it,” the new coach said. “It’s an opportunity to have a more positive impact on not just male football but female football as well,” he added.
“I’ve spent time studying the major differences between male and female football to aid the job and with the little I’ve discussed with the CEO I can see that the structure is good, well organized and I’m thrilled at the challenge to make a positive impact and to take the club to the next level,” he concluded.
