Head Coach Isah Ladan Bosso has finalized his selection for the men’s football event of the 13th African Games, with goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu, captain Daniel Bameyi, midfielder Daniel Daga, and forwards Charles Agada and Olalekan Ibrahim among the standout names in the 20-player squad.
In addition to these key players, Bosso has also included defenders Musa Abdullahi and Godwin Sampson, midfielders Favour Izuogu and Ibrahim Idris, and forwards Nasir Muhammed and Sunday Joseph.
The Flying Eagles are set to compete in Group B against formidable opponents such as Uganda, South Sudan, Senegal, and Tunisia.
Departing from Abuja on Tuesday, the squad is gearing up for the intense battles ahead, with matches scheduled to be held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon.
Reflecting on their previous performance, Nigeria aims to surpass their runners-up position in the 12th African Games held in Rabat, Morocco in 2019, where they narrowly missed out on the title, falling to Burkina Faso in the final.
