Club Brugge of Belgium attacker, Bonaventure Dennis is still under the radar of Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, as the Franco-German tactician says he has never stopped monitoring the youngster.
Following another goal by Bonaventure this past weekend, sports247.ng can report that Rohr was quick to react, and stated categorically that the Brigge attacker has improved over time.
Rohr pointed out that he had intentions of inviting Bonaventure to the Eagles in recent months, but had to let go due to better performances by other players in his position.
However, with the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations build-up programme now looming large, Rohr has hinted that he could give Bonaventure a look in, especially after the 21-year-old attacker scored his third league goal.
A backroom staff in the Eagles confirmed that Bonaventure is among 50 players Rohr has directed his assistants and scouts to keep their eyes on heading into AFCON 2019.
The youngster scored in a 3-0 win for Club Brugge over Standard Liege in his ninth game of the season, following his recovery from a hamstring injury that kept him out for a month.
Bonaventure has grown in leaps and bounds, following his transfer from Zorya of Ukraine before the start of last season, then played in 30 games with seven goals to help Brugge end as champions.
The credible source disclosed: “Dennis is under watch. His performance has not gone unnoticed right from last season but we had other players in front of him back then.
“But, he has close the gap very well this season. Every good player will get a chance if their form stay consistent.”
