Bonaventure, Okereke, Ezeh Join Olympic Eagles

Nigeria’s under-23 national team, Olympic Eagles have received more highly rated foreign-based players, as Club Brugge of Belgium striker, Dennis Bonaventure and David Okereke from Spezia of Italy linked up with the squad ahead of Wednesday’s match with Libya.

 

Sports247.ng gathered that the arrivals of Bonaventure and 0kereke brought to 12 the total number of Europe-based ‘galacticos’ that are now confirmed for the midweek Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifier in Bergandan, Tunisia.

Earlier confirmed were UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winners, Taiwo Awoniyi and Chidera Ezeh, as well as the Chile 2015 set of Kelechi Nwakali, Orji Okonkwo and Samuel Chukwueze, with Rio 2016 team member and former captain, Azubuike Okechukwu also making a return.

Surprise inclusions in the squad are former Manchester United of England youth team player, Tosin Kehinde, who is now with CD Fereinse of Portugal, as well as former Tottenham Hotspur youth winger, Chidera Ezeh and former youth international, Kingsley Michael from Perugia.

The squad contains three goalkeepers, eight defenders, six midfielders and six forwards, who joined the squad across Sunday and Monday, such that they are all now on ground ahead of the match on Wednesday.
