Winger Chukwuma Akabueze has urged his Boluspor teammates to stand up and be counted at Hatayspor this weekend in order to end the club’s poor run of form in the Turkish 1.Lig.
Boluspor make the trip to Hatayspor on Sunday attempting to keep their campaign alive after going on a three-match losing streak.
The club has slipped to fourth on the log, but Akabueze believes that overcoming a difficult Hatayspor side on Sunday will go a long way to accounting for that shortfall.
“This is massive for us,” he enthused to Sports247.ng.
“It’s going to be important for us to play well and hopefully win. It has been a quite difficult patch in the last three games.
“There are a lot of things being said at the moment but we have to stand up for ourselves and get back on track as quickly as possible. There’s still a lot at stake and it’s important now to put ourselves right. Hatayspor is a strong side in the league.
“They’re a very dangerous team. You’ve seen on some occasions the quality football that they’ve played. We’ll have to be wary; they have good players who are very experienced and hungry and we’ll have to match that.”
