Tyson Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum has backed Eddie Hearn’s assertion that a deal could be agreed for a mega-fight with Anthony Joshua in the next two weeks.
Talks have been ongoing to set up an undisputed world title showdown between WBC champion Fury and Joshua, the WBA, IBF and WBO belt-holder, later this year.
Top Rank boss Arum is hopeful that the fight will be confirmed soon.
Arum told Sky Sports News: “I don’t want to make a deadline, but I just can report that everything so far has been going splendidly, and we hope to have a signed document within the next couple of weeks.”
“That might not provide for a site, because again, we can have a document that the fighters would have signed, and everything, and then have a mutual agreement clause of the site.”

“I’m 95 percent confident the fight happens, and I’m 100 percent confident that my guy wins, and wins by knockout.”
The prospects of a super-fight taking place in the UK have been killed off by the latest lockdown, with Singapore now joining the list of countries bidding to stage the showdown for the undisputed heavyweight title.
There was only ever a slim chance of the clash happening in this country in late May or early June because of the financial necessity of a full crowd, but promoter Hearn has now confirmed that the increased restrictions have effectively removed the possibility altogether.
The Middle East remains the most likely destination, with approaches received from Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Qatar, and there is further interest in the US and China.
Hearn told Sportsmail that Singapore has also emerged as a possibility for a fight that will require a major site fee to help cover purses that could go as high as £100m for each of the British rivals.
With the fighters’ financial split agreed at 50-50, and the winner then slated to receive 60-40 for the rematch, Hearn is ‘optimistic’ that the remaining details of the deal, including the location and broadcasting arrangements, can be tied up in the next two weeks.
