It was an event-filled Saturday morning at the BABINGTON MACAULAY JUNIOR SEMINARY sports ground, Agunfoye Lugbusi village, Ikorodu, Lagos State, as parents cut across different locations came out to celebrate and cheer their Children as the school mark its 23rd inter-house Sports Festival.
Present at the sports event are VIPs from various schools chaired by Engr. & Mrs. Okey Ezello; MD / CEO FSD ltd ( Aviation and engineering consultants), amongst others, is Mr. Olubukola Babarinsa, chairman sports committee, Ogunbunmi Abolore, head of sports unit, Mrs. Modupe Oki, Vice Principal Academics, Mr. Ambrose Itiolu, vice-principal administration, and Revd. Canon Dr. B.A Osunyomi, principal.
In a remark with Sport247, The Revd. Canon Dr. Osunyomi said;
” To the glory of God we thank God for the Achievement of our students because we have been developing them, as you can see BMJS as a school of cause is the place to be at any time and any day, it’s the all-round development of every child academically, physically, socially and emotionally”.
” We train our students spiritually and that is why you can see BMJS students excelling anywhere they go all over the world, they are everywhere” he added.
” In this athletic meeting we have discovered some of the students who have become national athletes, some of them are outside the country; currently we have a student who represented Lagos state in the Maltina athletic meeting who is now in the United States in another school. Presently as the inter-house Sport is going on we have another student competing at the state level in the same Maltina athletic meeting so we give God all the glory”
” I must commend the effort of our parents, they are wonderful and lovely parents, they have invested so much in their children spending so much in training them also to encourage them in all the activities of this school, we’re grateful to them and particularly we’re grateful to the teachers and members of staffs who are really preparing the students to work as a team in BMJS; WE ARE ONE BIG FAMILY AND A PLACE TO BE” Revd. Canon Dr. Osunyomi added.
” Everything is in the hand of God and we will continue to improve in whatever we are doing, we have our board, the Lagos Anglican Schools Management board humbly supervised by the Arch Bishop Adekunle Foundation, they have good plans for the school they have a lot of program for the school. As said during the address of the executive secretary which will be taken to the foundation, they are going to construct a pavilion that is, a mini-stadium. That is the plan for all the Anglican Schools in Lagos; then we are looking out to a situation whereby BMJS Will be a feeder to Lagos state, a feeder to the national swimming competition, national volleyball, national basketball team. We want to be a school that will be feeding the state at the national level”. He concluded.
