Anietie Ferdinand Udoh, a retired FIFA referee, and NPFL referees’ assessor, has given Ibom Angels FC, a Nigeria Women’s Premier League (NWFL) club, a financial boost. He has committed to rewarding the team with ₦5,000 for every goal they score this season.
The Uyo-based side has already benefited from this initiative, receiving a cash reward for their lone goal in last week’s NWFL Week 3 defeat to Naija Ratels in Abuja.

Speaking to journalists, Udoh—an award-winning former referee—stated that his gesture aims to inspire the players and help them maintain their top-flight status.
“This is my little way of supporting the team. Goals win matches, and if this serves as extra motivation for them to perform better, then I am happy to do it,” Udoh said.
He emphasized his passion for football and the importance of backing local teams, adding that Ibom Angels have talented players who deserve encouragement.
Last season, Udoh launched a similar initiative for Nigeria National League (NNL) side Dakkada FC, offering ₦25,000 for every away draw and ₦50,000 for an away victory, further showcasing his commitment to supporting Nigerian football.
Ibom Angels will return to NWFL action on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, when they host their next match at the Uyo Township Stadium by 4 PM
