The Uyo based football academy yesterday became the winner of the Ibom Christmas Village 7 aside tournament hosted by the Firm-Mind Sportif in collaboration with the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The tournament was a three week long tournament of over 16 teams named after top premier league clubs in Europe like Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton as well as Juventus etc. Juventus (Blessed Stars Football Academy) emerged winner of the 2021 Ibom Christmas Village 7 aside tournament after going unbeaten throughout the tournament.
Blessed Stars is known in Akwa Ibom as one of the top football academies in the state as well as Nigeria having produced national team players for 3 years consecutively for the Nigeria U-17 and Nigeria U-20 National team.
The team managed and co-founded by Mr. Moses Ukpong who also happens to be the youngest club secretary in the history of the Nigeria National League for Akwa Ibom based FC One Rocket has recorded significant progress over the years under his leadership.
While speaking with Moses Ukpong, he stated that participation in the tournament was just a way to keep the boys fit and happy during the festive period.
Blessed Stars is expected to resume on the 5th of January for the 2021/2022 season.
