Akwa Ibom State Grassroot League returns enters its week 6 in the competition. This Thursdays the 3rd position holders, Blessed Stars Football Academy will play host to Josima FC on matchday 6 of the league, ahead of their Super 8.
Blessed Stars have a golden opportunity to extend their lead over their two leading contenders, Unity and Krane FC.
To top the league table, the Mission Boys (Blessed Stars) must first win Josima FC. If previous meetings are anything to go by, the visitors can be somewhat a no show, having a walk-over in its previous game, it is expected that it will be a clear 3 points 3 goals for the home side Blessed Stars. Blessed Stars has maintained a clean sheet so far with 3 draws and 2 wins. The same can be said about Unity FC. If and only if Unity FC and Krane get a draw/loss from their games it is safe to say that Blessed Stars will be top on the table.
While speaking with the club manager Moses Ukpong, he expressed his willingness to top the group table before the end of the group games to make it to super 8 with only 2 games left.
