CEO of Dominion Hotspur FC of Lagos, Emmanuel Udeogu has shared his views on the reasons behind Nigeria’s recent struggles on all national team levels.
Speaking to Sports247, Udeogu blamed the country’s footballing heads and also cited nepotism as a major cause.
“I will blame the administrators. I am part of the administrators but I will blame the administrators on this.” Udeogu said.
“We have lots of players scattered all over Europe, America, Nigeria, and Africa. Why don’t we just get 30 good players that will represent this country?
“Why? Because we refuse to do the right thing. The right thing is to go on merit. You don’t just compromise because you are in some way related to someone.”
Udeogu went further to stress that if people in offices carry out their duties with integrity, things would function well.
“If Nigerians stop being sentimental in whatever office we are handling, I think things will get better in the country,” he concluded.
