BITTERSWEET STORY FOR OSIMHEN

The Lille forward scored a goal and went off due to illness in the emphatic victory over Monaco in the Coupe De La Ligue. Osimhen scored the first goal in the 19th minute and the other two goals were scored by French veteran forward Loic Remy as they went on to win 3-0. The match was Osimhen’s French Ligue Cup debut.

Unfortunately, the 20-year-old could not finish the game he started so well. The Nigerian international has been in sensational goalscoring form this season. An onus of finding the back of the net isn’t easy to carry for any striker. He has scored twelve times in twenty-three appearances so far.

However, he isn’t a player that is prone to incessant injuries. This was a case of chest pain which he developed during the game. The feedback from the club has been positive relating to his response to treatment. His immense contributions to the team has helped them remain in the third position on the league table. They will be hoping to enjoy more of his goals when they take on Monaco again in the Ligue 1.
