Nigeria left back Stephen Bitok is looking forward to the challenge of facing South Africa in the Total U23 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday night. “We have no fear.”
Olympic Eagles lost their opener 1-0 against Ivory Coast and bounced back with a 3-1 win over Zambia in the U23 AFCON competition.
Imama Amapakabo’s wards will take on the lousy South African side at Al Salam Stadium and Bitok can’t wait.
“We’re playing against one of the strongest sides in circulation,” the Spartak Trnava defender stated on Thursday afternoon.
“It’s a stimulating challenge,” he continued. “But we don’t fear South Africa, instead we simply respect them.
“The game could be dangerous on a physical level, but we’re mentally ready for it. We’ll give our all and we are very motivated.
“South Africa have some unique players and I’d love to take on Luther Singh. He has all the characteristics of a modern attacker.”
South Africa are top on four points, followed by Nigeria and Ivory Coast on three and Zambia with 1.
