Binga Thanks Korea Embassy For Backing NTF’s Efforts

Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) president, Mrs Margaret Elizabeth Binga has thanked Korea Republic’s embassy for supporting the body’s efforts at taking the sport higher on the international scale.

Sports247.ng reports that Binga’s latest words of gratitude come after the Korea embassy in Abuja and Taekwondo Promotion Foundation supported the NTF’s efforts to enroll two national champions into the maiden Taekwondowon International Training Camp.

The duo of Elizabeth Anyanacho and Benjamin Okuomose will be at the camp in Muju, South Korea along with NTF’s technical director, Chika Chukwumerije from March 12 to the 28th, much to Binga’s delight.
Binga further disclosed that the trip was facilitated by the Korean embassy in Nigeria, while Taekwondo Promotion Foundation supported all participants with 20% minimum airfare, accommodation and feeding.

Anyanacho and Okuomose, who recently bagged gold medals at the Nigeria International Taekwondo Open, will meet 38 other international competitors, as a total of 40 slots were available to 129 countries.
The NTF president then encouraged the two participants to give a good account of the themselves on and off the court.

Binga added: “There has been a warm relationship between the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation and Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nigeria going back to the 1980s.
“This program is, once again, another example of the benefits of our bi-lateral relationships.
“So, we are grateful to His Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Nigeria and the Secretary-General of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, Mr Kook Hyun Jung, for this wonderful opportunity.
“(This will help us) to expose our young and talented athletes in an international quality camp of this nature. It is a great development for Nigeria Taekwondo.”
