Doma United defender Bilal Yakubu has officially announced his departure from the Gombe-based club.
The 26-year-old shared the news through a heartfelt message on social media, marking the end of his stint with the Savannah Tigers.
Yakubu joined Doma United from Enyimba during the mid-season transfer window last season. Since then, he has been a pivotal figure in the club’s defensive lineup. His tenure at Doma United, though brief, was impactful and appreciated by fans and teammates alike.
In his farewell message, Yakubu expressed mixed emotions about leaving the club that has been his home for the past months. “I find it very difficult to say goodbye to my dear club, but in every journey there must come an end,” Yakubu stated. “I am now moving to the next chapter of my life; Doma United will forever remain in my heart. Thanks to everyone who has supported me from the beginning to the end.”
Reflecting on his time at Doma United, Yakubu expressed gratitude towards the club and its supporters. “I want to go for a break now and decide my next club. Goodbye to everyone in Gombe State; I love you all,” he added, leaving his future career path open as he plans his next move.
Yakubu’s departure comes as a significant change for Doma United, who will now have to fill the gap left by the experienced defender. As he steps into the next phase of his career, Yakubu leaves behind a legacy of dedication and resilience, and he looks forward to new opportunities and challenges ahead.
