Gateway United coach Akeem Busari has described 1-nil loss against NPFL outfit Sunshine Stars as a learning curve for his team, assuring of an improved showing against Osun United today at Osogbo Township stadium as reported by the Media Officer of the club, Moses Ojewumi.
sports247.ng gathers that only goal of the game was scored in the 22nd minute by Anthony Omaka who powered into the bottom corner via a free kick. However, all attempts from the visitors to level the game came to naught.
Speaking after the game, coach Busari said the pulsating game has shown the areas of improvement before the start of 2018/2019 NNL season.
“It was a very good match. Sunshine Stars have played about 10 matches home and away in the topflight league. It’s good for my boys. That was our second friendly on the road. We will work on having two more friendlies after the governorship election”_
“I want the players to do more. We will work more on the attack. Quick transition coupled with maturity on the field of play are what we will try achieve now”, he added._
With a friendly to go, Coach Busari expects a vastly improved display against Osun United.
“Osun United have played some graded matches before us. So we are equally playing a good side. It’s going to be another avenue to test both old and new players, he concluded.
The friendly affair between Gateway United FC and Osun United holds today at the Osogbo Township Stadium with kick off scheduled for 4pm.
