Coach Lasana Dukaray took to the Bet9ja/DFA Whatsapp group Chat to tender apology for his actions noting that it was due to the provokation from the Center Referees Bias Officiating and issuing of cards to his players after the final whistle. “I am sorry for my action, i probably over reacted but in truth, i didn’t attack the referee rather he was the one who punched me when i accosted him to ask why he gave my players Yellow card after the match and he responded by issuing me a Red Card too” The Seria Leone born Lasana Dukaray said
Meanwhile, The CEO of KG Sports Academy Dr Ken Gadaffi acknowledged receipt of the Letter and frowned at the action of the Coach despite being provoke considering the match had ended and KG sports won irrespective of the hostile officiating.
“We at KG Sports do not condone any act of Indicispline and as such the Coach deserves his punishment, he ought not to have taken it against the referee considering that despite the perceived bias officiating, his team won the match” Dr Ken Gadaffi said from his base in Cambodia.
He however called for the Bet9ja/DFA Football League to Temper Justice with Mercy by reducing the Ban if possible. “I think the indefinite suspension and banning him from even the venue is a little bit harsh, I am not sure we will appeal or send a protest against the suspension, but i feel the Organizers should reconsider their stand on this” he remarked.
KG Sports are currently 3rd on the Table with 9 points from 4 matches and were adjudged the Team of the Week in the first week of the league. They will face Lisbon FC on March 15 without Coach Lasana on the sideline.
