Addressing journalists in Ibadan, the former MFM handler ,Coach Gabriel Olalekan lsuded the organizers of the Mega Scouting programme for the job well done and he called for more genuine scouts to take a cue from Best Talent with Shino Scouting Programme in Ibadan.
“So far so good, I’m impressed with what I have seen here. Big kudos to the organizers. My purpose of being here is to look for talented players and probably take them to my team in Benin Republic,Jack FC playing in Benin Republic league.”
“In terms of logistics and infrastructure, Benin Republic league appears better. They have facilities as every team has their own pitch. No team is borrowing pitch to train. Nigeria has better social media connect with media guys that promote the league . Then, Nigeria is blessed with talented players than Benin Republic but the organization is superb. Players are not complaining of payment of salary being owed there. This is the bedrock of league success.”
“I was on a rescue mission/probation in Benin Republic and I was able to salvage the situation for the club Jack FC. Surprisingly, I came top of the log and qualified the team for play off.Out of 10 league matches played, I won.7,drew 2 and lost 1 game. This makes me a toast of other clubs in the country as I was voted Best Coach in the league “. Says a proponent grassroots coach.
“Now, I am to look for more players and build a team that will be difficult for any team to beat just like how we raised the MFM with grassroots players and the vision will become a reality”.
On his possibility of returning to Nigeria league, Coach Gabriel said: “I don’t mind coming back to Nigeria if a serious club beckons and I will consider other options before making my decision on such voyage.
