Bendel Insurance Feeders Edge St. Andrews Foundation FC 2-1 to Reach Edo FA Cup Quarterfinals

Bendel Insurance Feeders secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over St. Andrews Foundation FC in the second round of the 2025 Edo FA Cup tournament, earning a spot in the quarterfinals.

Miracle Oshodin was the hero of the match, scoring twice at the Crescent Club Field to lead the young Insurers to victory.

He opened the scoring in the 7th minute, skillfully weaving past defenders before finishing off a fine cross from Samuel Eyide. Oshodin struck again in the 48th minute, expertly converting a right-flank delivery from Chinedu Kelvin.

Three minutes later, Marvis found the net from the edge of the box, seemingly extending Insurance Feeders’ lead. However, controversy arose as the referee initially awarded the goal but later reversed the decision following protests from St. Andrews Foundation FC and some spectators.

St. Andrews quickly responded, pulling one back just two minutes after play resumed, but the Insurance Feeders held firm to secure the win. Team captain Osamuyi Egharevba was named Man of the Match and received a souvenir from the tournament sponsors, Peculiar Ultimate Concerns.

Insurance Feeders will now face either their senior team, Bendel Insurance FC, or Restoration FC in the quarterfinals. The two teams are set to clash on Thursday at 9 AM at the same venue.

Meanwhile, City Rovers FC advanced effortlessly, claiming a 3-0 walkover win after FC Deltra FC failed to show up.
