The Coordinator of Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin Mrs Chikere Sabina has showered praise on the players and coaching crew of the Benin Arsenal and promised them good amount of money for their show of commitment and superlative performance this season.
Mrs Chikere fondly called ‘MAMA BENDEL ‘ was speaking when she visited the team during their recovery training after the team’s triumphant return from Ekiti state where they pipped their host Ekiti Utd 1-0 in the NNL rescheduled week 17 match.
According to her,the coach Monday Odigie led Insurance FC have demonstrated strong character which reflects in their hundred percent home win record and highest away wins in the current season which has put them atop group B1 with 40 points and four points clear of second placed Gateway Utd who are Insurance next opponents in Benin.
“You have made us proud by making us have good report to our chairman, the Deputy Governor Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu who has always motivated us with everything required to be champions. I am pleased with your performance this season, particularly for recording four winning away from home. The Deputy Governor is also very happy with you and wants you to keep the fire burning by beating Gateway Utd on Wednesday and Ikorodu City next weekend to confirm your promotion ticket . He asked me to tell you that he is happy and pleased with the result you posted in Ekiti. ”
We have something very good for you as part of appreciation and to further spur you to winning the remaining four matches . We expect you to improve on your performance and play as champions irrespective of match venues. That strong winning mentality is what we need to be able to sustain our stay in the premiership when we get there. Our target is beyond getting promotion to NPFL.” Mrs Chikere said.
Responding,the head of the coaching crew and Technical Director of the team Monday Odigie expressed his team’s appreciation to the Coordinator and the management, particularly the Deputy Governor Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu whose esteemed presence and influence has been source of inspiration and motivation for the team.
Odigie said that Insurance FC is still work in progress,promising to take the club to an enviable height and regain its lost glory.

Bendel Insurance FC are scheduled to host Gateway Utd in a rescheduled game of week 18 fixtures on Wednesday, July 6 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. Time is 6:00 PM and a win as expected of the Benin Arsenal will extend their lead in the group to seven points clear of Gateway Utd who also have another away game against Vandrezzer FC in Lagos, weekend.
