Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi sealed the emphatic win in the 61st minute, securing Insurance’s spot in the Round of 32.
Following the victory, head coach Greg Ikhenoba commended his players for their focus and intensity, particularly against an unfamiliar opponent.
“They gave me exactly what I wanted—no complacency, no dull moments. This is the right approach against any team, especially underdogs. The FA Cup is full of surprises, so I’m pleased my boys delivered. Now, our focus shifts back to the league,” Ikhenoba stated.
Bendel Insurance, currently 9th in the NPFL standings, will now return to Benin to prepare for their Matchday 30 clash against Sunshine Stars, scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 4 PM.
