BBHS Clinch 38th Lisabi Cup with Stunning Comeback Victory

Baptist Boys High School (BBHS) showcased resilience and determination as they staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Abeokuta Grammar School 2-1 and claim the prestigious 38th Lisabi Cup on Wednesday.

The thrilling final took place at the Abeokuta Grammar School football pitch, adding to the intensity of the encounter. Despite playing in familiar territory, the hosts could not hold on to their early lead as BBHS turned the game around in stunning fashion.

The highly competitive match was graced by one of BBHS’s most distinguished Old Boys, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Ọba Adedotun Gbadebo, who watched keenly as his alma mater emerged victorious.

For their triumph, BBHS received a prize of ₦250,000. However, in recognition of their impressive performance, Ọba Gbadebo generously rewarded the team with an additional ₦500,000 for their efforts.

The Lisabi Cup, a highly regarded football competition in Ogun State, continues to be a platform for young talents to showcase their abilities while fostering healthy rivalry between schools. This year’s edition once again lived up to expectations, delivering excitement and unforgettable moments.

BBHS’s victory cements their status as a formidable force in school football, and their triumph will undoubtedly be celebrated by students, staff, and alumni alike.
