Bazuaye Warns: Don’t Blame New Coach If Eagles Miss World Cup Ticket

Ex-international winger, Baldwin Bazuaye has sounded a note of warning that the Super Eagles’ next coach should not be blamed by anyone if the team fails to qualify for the World Cup.

Bazuaye stated as much against the backdrop of continued delay by top shots of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in naming a substantive coach for the national squad.

As time flies past and crunch qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic loom in June, Bazuaye warned that the new gaffer may not have enough time to instil his tactics into the players.

The former Bendel Insurance FC of Benin City dazzler opined further that there should be an appropriate sync and understanding among all departments of the team, but he also reckoned that there will not be enough time to put things on track when the coach eventually assumes duty.

He went on to urge egg heads in the football house to take the bull by the horn and make the much expected appointment immediately.

“They should do the right and employ the right coach,” Bazuaye stressed, “That’s why they are there.

“There should be no sentiments. There should be no reason to fear, and I think everything will be good for everybody.

“From the management part to the coach; everyone has to take responsibility. If a coach cannot prepare his team in time for a competition, what happens?

“If you choose the right person and put him there in time, then everyone will work together … from the players to the backroom staff and administrators.

“Everybody will come with his own philosophy. We’ll put heads together and prepare in time. We’ll choose the right philosophy to take us to the expected destination.”
