Reflecting on the game, Teibowei praised both teams for their performance. “Very good game. A very interesting game we played. They played,” he said. He acknowledged the strength of Doma United, describing them as “a very good side.” However, he was quick to point out that Bayelsa United had an edge over their opponents, which ultimately led to their victory. “You can see that we have an edge over them. That’s why we won,” he stated.
Teibowei also addressed a penalty decision during the match, which some might have considered soft. “Maybe it’s soft to you. To me it is not soft,” he said, defending the decision. He explained that the penalty was awarded when a player was stripped from behind, which he believed was a valid call. “I think it’s a good penalty,” he asserted.
The coach attributed the team’s success to hard work and divine intervention. “We’ve been working very hard, very hard. It is God and hard work that pays,” he said. He encouraged his team to see the victory as a dividend of their hard work and urged them to continue in the same vein.
The win against Doma United marks a significant achievement for Bayelsa United, reflecting the team’s dedication and hard work. As the NPFL season continues, Coach Teibowei’s leadership and the team’s commitment to excellence will undoubtedly be key factors in their pursuit of further success.
