Honourable Igali welcomed the scouts, expressing that this initiative aligns with Governor Douye Diri’s vision of providing opportunities for Bayelsa’s players to develop their skills and gain global exposure.

He stated, “Bayelsa State is eager to take its rightful place on the global football stage, inspiring young generations to be discovered.”

Reflecting on the success of previous scouting efforts, Igali highlighted the progress made, including the imminent European opportunities for five young athletes.

“The goal of every young player is to reach the zenith of their careers, and through opportunities like the Governor’s Prosperity Cup tournament, we are enabling players to pursue professional careers abroad,” he said.

The Sports Director of OTP Finland and General Coordinator of the Scouting Programme, Hilary Azodo, praised the Bayelsa State Government for its support and partnership, saying, “Bayelsa has been so quiet and peaceful, no rancor, no problem, we are very pleased.”
