Bayelsa Queens earned their first victory, Saturday on day 7 of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 phase 1 ongoing in Benin City, Edo State.
Bayelsa Queens, who before now hadn’t won any match, defeated experienced Imo Grasshoppers 22-21 to earn their first victory since they got back to the top tier league.
In other matches in the women category, defending champion Safety Babes continue to lead the table as they completely dismantle Bendel Dynamos with a 46-21 victory while Seasider Babes and Delta Force played out a 29-29 draw.
Plateau Peacocks defeated Benue Queens 28-20 while Defender Babes defeated Rima Queens 27-18.
In the Men category, Tojemarine Academy came back to winning ways after defeating Police Machine 28-20 while Lagos Seasiders earned a 26-22 victory of Benue Buffaloes.
Rima Strikers comfortably defeated Benue Buffaloes 32-19 as Confluence Stars and D.Defenders played out a 29-29 draw.
Kano Pillars came back to winning ways as they defeated Correction Boys 27-20 while Safety Shooters have dropped from the summit of the league after losing to Niger United 23-20
