In a thrilling grand finale at the Keffi Township Stadium, Basco United secured victory in the second edition of the Si14 Peace and Unity Cup by overcoming Keffi Mighty Jets FC with a 2-1 comeback win.
The Nasarawa State Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima, lauded the tournament’s brainchild, Sunusi Ibrahim, as a philanthropist making a positive impact in the community.

Basco United displayed resilience and determination as they came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Keffi Mighty Jets FC in the Si14 Peace and Unity Cup grand finale at the Keffi Township Stadium.
Umar Ibrahim initially put Keffi Mighty Jets ahead in the 20th minute, but second-half goals from Ibrahim Agwai and Asauta Sunday ensured Basco United claimed the coveted trophy and a cash prize of three hundred thousand naira.
Chairman Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima, leading the Nasarawa State Football Association, praised Sunusi Ibrahim, the visionary behind the Si14 Peace and Unity Cup.
He acknowledged Ibrahim as a philanthropist with a golden heart, emphasizing his commendable choice to contribute to community development through sports.
“Sanusi Ibrahim has shown over time that he is a man with a golden heart, and it is not surprising that he has chosen to give back to his community using the Si14 as a foundation,” remarked Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima.
In his post-final statement, Chairman Galadima urged all well-meaning sons and daughters of Nasarawa State to follow Sanusi Ibrahim’s lead in utilizing sports, especially football, as a tool to promote peace. Recognizing the positive impact of such initiatives, he encouraged community engagement for the betterment of society.
Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima received a golden medal from the Si14 Peace and Unity Cup organizing committee in recognition of his outstanding achievements in football within the state, particularly in grassroots development.
