The President of the Nigeria Women Football League side, Barrister Paul Edeh on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Edo Queens Coach, Gabriel Adejor at their Benin residence.
The UN SDG Ambassador was accompanied by the secretary of Edo Queens, Mrs Kate Dirisu and Technical Director, Rolandson Odeh, Barrister Edeh described the death of Coach Gabriel Adejor as unfortunate and shocking.
He eulogised Adejor who he met for the first time at the Naija Ratels Pre-Season Championship last year in Makurdi and since then had built a very blossom relationship with him.
The Abuja based lawyer comforted the grieving wife and assured her that he would stand by her during this difficult period.
“It is sad, that this happened, he was a good person and one whom I had a good relationship with. Edeh said.
“I commiserate with Edo Queens for this irreparable loss and of course Adejor has left a shoe that would be too big to fit.
“I am saddened that he will not be at the next Pre-Season to defend his title. I want to use this medium to call on all well-meaning Nigerians, especially those in the football world to rally round the family in this moment of grief and support them.
“I also call on the Edo State Government to immortalise Adejor for his contribution to Nigerian Women Football and his coaching prowess which has continued to make Edo Queens shine.
“I travelled all the way to visit the family in Benin because of the bond of friendship which we established during our first meeting. We all must come together in the NWFL irrespective of our learning and be true sportsmen and women, providing a shoulder for one another to lean on. He concluded.
Meanwhile, the family of the late coach will announce the date for his burial programme in the coming days.
