Following Wednesday’s 1-2 loss to Enyimba of Aba in the matchday, eight ties of the Nigeria Professional Football League decided at the Lafia City Stadium, Nasarawa United Chairman, Barr. Isaac Danladi has tendered an unreserved apology to supporters of the club.
In an exclusive note made available to the club’s media shortly after the game, Danladi said:
“Gentlemen, we painfully lost the game against Enyimba this evening at home in front of our number one financier and supporter, His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, and his highly esteemed entourage, including our dearly beloved Honourable Commissioner of youth and Sports Development, Hon Othman Adam(Boss) as well as our teeming fans and supporters.
“As painful and unacceptable as the defeat may be, I wish to, on behalf of my humble self, Management, Players and Officials of NUFC tender our unreserved apology for the team’s dismal performance today(Wednesday).
“Some times you win and some times you lose. That is the spirit of sportsmanship.
“There is an adage that says “success is not achieved by not falling down, but getting up each time you fall down.”
“We still have 30 games to play and the league is still fresh. The jungle has not matured.
“I wish to assure His Excellency, Engr. A. A. Sule, and all relevant stakeholders that the journey has just begun.
“The players, officials, and Management have resolved that, henceforth, we shall post better results. Therefore, no cause for alarm as we shall remain focused in our bid to actualising our mission and vision for the 2020/ 2021 NPFL Season.
“We have taken the positives from the Enyimba game and we fight/move on.
“Aluta continua, victoria ascerta”, he concluded.
