President of Nigeria Women Football League side, Naija Ratels FC, Barrister Paul Edeh has commended the leadership of the Management Committee of the Nigeria Women Football League headed by veteran journalist Aisha Falode on their commitment and noble efforts in achieving positive ‘rare’ results since coming in some few years ago.
The Commercial and Property lawyer said this while answering questions from journalists on one of Nigeria’s foremost Sports Whatsapp group, Family United by Football (FUBF) on Friday evening, revealing a huge turn around in the league from what it used to be and what presently obtains.
” When you are judging from where we are coming from and where we are now, I must say I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel. He told FUBF.
” With the kind of leadership that Aisha Falode has provided since she came in as Chairperson of the NWFL, I must say she need to be given kudos and of course more supports.
” It’s actually not easy looking at how she has been able to navigate through very difficult terrains, traveling to various places just to drum up supports and sponsors for the league.
” With the innovations and few creative ideas she has been able to introduce to the women’s game in Nigeria, I think sooner than later, we should be able to get sponsors for the league.
” I understand that few of the challenges the board has faced under her has to do with funding , not too many multinationals companies are willing to give freely to support women’s football, they prefer to spend their money on Musicians, actors and showbiz.
” FIFA has tried its best lately in developing women’s football and I think with the kind of push and drive she is accelerating with am sure we will get it right.
” I was amazed with the kind of weight she was able to pull, during the unveiling of the NWFL’s new logo, it clearly shows that this is a woman who is a goal-getter. He concluded.
