Spanish giant, Barcelona have released their home kit ahead of the 2022/23 football season featuring Ansu Fati, Pedri, and Super Falcons of Nigeria Star, Asisat Oshola in a mega-money deal with Spotify.
Oshoala was part of the Barcelona Femeni team that won the league unbeaten although failed to defend the UWCL trophy after they lost narrowly to Ligue I champions, Lyon by three goals to one.
The £235m deal will see their home ground, Camp Nou renamed.
The Catalan club showed off their new strip for next year with the tagline ‘The Flame Lives On’ – indicating that the design pays homage to the 1992 Olympic Games held in Barcelona.
Fans on social media were quick to praise their new home kit, with one user going as far to say that it’s ‘one of the best kits’ in the club’s history.
A statement on the club website said: “The kit launch campaign is also designed to reflect the spirit of Barcelona ’92, whereby the different graphic elements include a similar typography to the one used at the time, and includes the different messages that were used in the posters of 30 years ago.”
For the first time in the ground’s 65-year history, it will be rebranded after a deal was struck.
This is another major win for Asisat and Barcelona following a financially burdened campaign going into the new season.
