“Kylian Mbappe is the player I model my game after as a right back and he’s a left wing forward, I like him so much but I know it’s weird but I love playing attack but the coach likes to utilize me in defense, I can play in his position and also in the defense,” Balogun admitted in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng.

Speaking further, “It’s been a rough journey for me because lately, I’ve not really been on my best performance but I seldom come for personal trainings to keep up my status because I really want to be more better and improve my all round game.”

“I’m a leader in this team even if I’m not the captain but sometimes my coach gives me the responsibility to coordinate the team and I must lead by example on the pitch with my game and also off the pitch.”

On the equipments in the academy to enhance their game, “the equipments for training is about 50% which means we can always do better but it’s not bad when you look at it and it has been so helpful for us.”

“I’m really trying my best but I need that consistency in every game and not a have a good game today and below per game tomorrow, that’s not how one will grow.”

“I want to change a lot of narratives, a defender isn’t just meant for the defense line alone and I’m certain that with hard-work and commitment, I will get there” he vowed.
