Brighton & Hove Albion of England defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun has admitted he struggled to hold Chelsea star, Eden Hazard in last weekend’s English Premier League clash.
After seeing his side crumble against the side that still has fellow-Nigerian, Victor Moses on the outer, Balogun said he was amazed by Hazard’s form in the encounter.
Sports247.ng can report further that Balogun is still awed by what he saw come against him, and the Germany-born stopper says even his teammates were amazed by the quality of Hazard on Sunday.
Hazard scored one and created the other for Chelsea’s 2-1 win, following which Balogun tagged the Belgian ace ‘unbelievable.’
Balogun admitted he had thought Hazard’s assist for Pedro’s goal was a bit lucky, but said it took nothing away from the fact the Chelsea star is a world-class player.
Balogun confessed: “We just spoke about it in the dressing room. He’s as quick with the ball as he is without it.
“His control is magnificent, so it’s very hard to…you cannot control him, really. It’s hard.
“He assisted one, but even that, it was a bit lucky because he shoots, the ball gets blocked.
“It comes back to his feet, then he has a little bit of an advantage, but then obviously he knows what to do with it.
“You can get the ball off him if he makes a mistake. Most of the time it’s about delaying him – I think we did very well. He’s a world-class player.”
