Center Peter Olisemeka has attributed Rivers Hoopers’ impressive run in the 2025 BAL to their togetherness during tough times, Sports247 reports.
Rivers Hoopers continued their impressive run in the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL) Kalahari Conference with a gritty 88-82 victory over hosts FUS Rabat on Sunday night.

The win marks their second in two games, maintaining their perfect start to the season as Peter Olisemeka emphasized togetherness in the team as the key to their success
“Staying together when times get tough, and we believe. We push together, we play together,” Olisemeka told the BAL official website after the game.
“We have things we need to work on because this is a new team. All in all, I am very happy with the effort the boys are putting in.”
Olisemeka, who stands at 6’10”, was a commanding presence in the paint, posting a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. He found solid support in South Sudanese guard Madut Akec, who lit up the scoreboard with a game-high 25 points, including four makes from beyond the arc.
Despite a spirited showing from FUS Rabat, the Hoopers’ perimeter shooting and rebounding advantage proved too much. Rivers Hoopers knocked down 11 three-pointers and grabbed 16 offensive rebounds, capitalizing on second-chance opportunities to control the momentum throughout.
The win keeps Rivers Hoopers atop the standings, while FUS Rabat falls to 0-2. Next up, the Nigerian side will take on Al Ittihad, aiming to maintain their flawless form.
