The third editions of Baale Oki Kingdom Challenge Cup would commence on 29, October at the Oki Primary School football pitch, Alaguntan Bus Stop, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.
Chairman Organising Committee, Badiru Azeez Olawale confirmed to sports247.ng that the competition is being sponsored by a Lagos based traditional ruler High Chief Adedayo Badeyemo Oki(Baale of Oki Kingdom) saying that clubs owners begin to show interest in the annual tournament.
“This is the competition that the cup donor use to keep the youths busy in the community and it’s environs.We have reached out to some clubs and they are ready to take part in the competition.Presently some clubs have completed their registration forms and we are still expecting more clubs before the closing date,”he said.
The competition involves various categories such as U-10,13,15 and female category.
According to Olawale,16 teams are expected to participate in each category to make this year’s edition a memorable one.
He explained further that the competition has brought many players,coaches and clubs to limelight and urged the interested club owners to come and pick their registration forms before closing date.
Olawale however thanked the traditional ruler for his financial support given the competition in the last two years and promised to make this year’s edition better organised.
