Caykur Rizespor of Turkey midfielder, Azubuike Okechukwu has taken his mind off last weekend’s 3-2 loss away to Fernebahce, as he says all he is now doing is thinking of victory in his side’s next home game of the Turkish Super Lig.
Sports247.ng reports that Azubuike, who was on from the start of his side’s lost to Fernebahce, but was replaced in the 85th minute of play, said it was very disappointing to see his side lost, despite their battling efforts, but believes they will do better against visiting Keyserispor.
Incidentally, Victor Moses scored Fernebahce’s winning goal against Rizespor on Saturday, with a 84th minute penalty, after which he was taken off in the 90th, while the losing side took off Amuni Umar in the 73rd and had Chidozie Awaziem on for the duration.
However, a 42nd minute red card shown Azubuike’s teammate, Mykola Morozyuk, did not help the visitors once bit, leaving the former under-23 national team captain distraught, and counting on home advantage in their next game to atone for Saturday’s setback.
Although his side are now 13th on the table and play seventh placed Keysreispor on Sunday, Azubuike is talking big about picking maximum three points at home.
The former Bayelsa United of Yenagoa star stated boldly: “We will go back home and work hard to get the three points we lost back when we play at home this coming weekend.”
