Following the conclusion of the final match of the Nationwide League One (NLO) season where Alim City faced off against Mavlon FC in a contest that ended in a 1-1 draw, Ayomide Monpeller, a player from Alim City shared his thoughts in a post-match interview with Sports 247.
Reflecting on the season, Ayomide described the experience as interesting, particularly noting that it was their first time participating in the NLO.

He highlighted some of the challenges they faced, singling out matches against strong opponents like First Bank and Real Sapphire.
Despite the difficulties, he mentioned that he particularly enjoyed the match against Zenith Emperor FC.
Looking ahead, Ayomide outlined the team’s plans, stating that they would regroup and return to training in preparation for upcoming tournaments, including the premiership and other football events.
When asked about the lessons learned from the NLO season, Ayomide emphasized the valuable experience gained from competing against more experienced teams.
He acknowledged that while they didn’t make it to the playoffs, their spirits remained high, and they were proud of their efforts to stay competitive throughout the season.
“We have learned so much from this event and playing with other experienced teams has improved us.
Although we didn’t make it to the playoffs, it has in no way dampened our spirit, we did our best to remain safe and we look forward to the next season.”
With optimism, Ayomide expressed their readiness to tackle the challenges of the next season head-on.
