In a post-match interview with Sports247, Ayomide commends his team, saying, “We did good, we performed well. We are proud of our performance. We can do better and we’ll do better definitely.” Despite the challenges, Ayomide remains optimistic about the team’s potential for improvement.
Reflecting on playing against an older team, Ayomide acknowledges the initial size difference but emphasizes the importance of talent within their squad. He states, “When we came and I saw the other players, I was like, these guys are bigger but as I watched them train, I knew we could play against them because we have talents. I didn’t think of it as much of a big deal because we are a team, and that’s all we need.”

Regarding the final match, Ayomide shares his thoughts, “At a point, there was nothing I was thinking about in particular. We wanted to win, that’s what we came here for. We are proud, we played well and we have learned some lessons too.” He acknowledges the pressure during the penalty shootout, expressing his desire for victory while admitting some nervousness.
Looking ahead, Ayomide discusses preparations for the future, stating, “Everybody plays together, we learn from this, look at the mistakes we made, and just move on. That’s it.” Despite the loss, the focus remains on growth and improvement.
Highlighting the overall event experience, Ayomide expresses his excitement, saying, “I have never been here before. I felt it was going to be small, but I met 14 teams. We have been here since morning, and it’s been nice. All the orphanages, schools, and teams, it’s been wonderful. I met a couple of people I knew. I met a lot of new people, and it’s been fun.”
