Royal Excel Mouscron of Belgium striker, Taiwo Awoniyi could be in for a reduced transfer fee in the summer, as sports247.ng gathered that his parent club, Liverpool of England are ready to accept €12m for a deal.
Although the initial valuation Liverpool gave Awoniyi is €15m, The Reds are considering lowering their asking fee, in order not to scare off the like of Schalke 04 of Germany, who are keen on buying the star in June.
Mouscron have an option to sign him when his loan deal comes to an end but they don’t have the funds to do such business.
The initial report out of Anfield had been that The Reds will cash in on demand for the in-form striker.
However, that situation is turning around full circle, with Kop now said to be ready to make Awoniyi available for a bargain fee.
Incidentally, Schalke are ahead of a queue that includes two Belgian clubs, Club Brugges and Standard Liege, such that Liverpool are prepared to lower their fee, which means they could sell Awoniyi less than €15m.
