It was the 21-year-old Nigerian international’s fourth goal after five appearances for Les Hurlus in the 2018/19 Belgian First Division season.
The former Flying Eagles striker called time on his loan spell at KAA Gent to pitch tent with Royal Excel Mouscron in the January transfer window.
His previous goals for Royal Excel Mouscron had come against KV Ostende, Genk and KAA Gent.
Only Frantzdy Pierrot, with six goals, has scored more for Royal Excel Mouscron this season than Awoniyi.
