A delegate of Awka Angels Football Club paid a courtesy call to the Anambra FA Chairman General Chikelue Iloenyosi in his office at the FA complex at Udoka Estate Awka. Recall that Awka Angels FC withdrew from the inconclusive 2021/2022 Federation Cup sighting insufficient fund as their reason.
The leader of the delegation, Nzekwe Alex who is the owner of the team thanked the FA Boss for welcoming them and explained the difficulty his team went through just to represent the state in the Federation Cup.
“Thank you my Chairman for this big audience today. I am here to officially and formerly introduce myself and team to you. I am the owner of Awka Angels, you must have heard of the great difficulty we went through just to represent the state in the Federation Cup without any financial backing from the then FA or anywhere. Honestly, I am convinced especially with the work you have done so far that if you were the FA Boss, the story would have been different. Taking charge of this team has not been easy for me. I will support your administration to make sure that football is booming in our state”
In his remark, the General welcomed them as he assured them of the FA Support now more than. He revealed to them his plans to register them and send their Head coach to a coaching course all paid by him.
“I welcome you all. What happened to you guys was an unfortunate incident. It could have been handled differently if I was to be around. I believe in female football and I am optimistic we can produce talented female footballers. I will use my personal money to register the club in the women’s league and send your Head coach to acquire a coaching certificate at least to standout with her peers in other states.”
The delegation had Nzekwe Alex, the owner of the team, Nneka Michael the Team Manager, Nwokedike Vivian the Chief Coach and Etoh Blessing the assistant Manager.
